Twickenham Stadium, just two miles from The Petersham andthe Home of England Rugby, is the largest dedicated Rugby Union venue in the world. Offering much more than just top flight sport, visit the superb World Rugby Museum, the history of a stadium tour or attend a concert.


Watch the best battle it out on centre court or visit the excellent museum which includes a fascinating guided tour taking in No.1 Court and the picnic terraces of the Aorangi Terrace (aka 'Murray Mound'), an interactive racket exhibition and a 3-D cinema experience.

Ham Polo Club

Ham Polo Club is located just down the road from The Petersham and is the last remaining polo club in Greater London. Founded in 1926, Ham Polo Club has an established and distinguished reputation. Fixtures are held throughout the summer.

The Queen's Club

Established in 1886, every June the historic club hosts the annual Queen's Club Championships grass court men's lawn tennis tournament. It has 28 outdoor courts and eight indoor.

The Boat Race

Between Oxford & Cambridge Universities, this is one of the major sporting events of the year. Spectators line the river from nearby Putney to Mortlake.

Sandown Park

Sandown Park Racecourse is home to some of the finest flat and jump racing. Hosting regular racing fixtures as well as live music concerts.

Kempton Racecourse

Home of the King George VI Chase, there's really no day out like one at Kempton Park Racecourse. Regular racing fixtures are hosted.

Twickenham Stoop

Twickenham Stoop Stadium is home to the Harlequins, Premiership rugby union team. The Petersham is a great base on match days!
