With many exceptional restaurants dotted throughout London and across Richmond, you’ll certainly find a wonderful selection of private dining in Richmond. However, not every space boasts such incredible views as those available at The Petersham. Our private dining rooms include: 

The Terrace Suite: This elegant room is bright and airy with large double doors allowing access to the bar terrace which overlooks the meadow and river. Refreshing, vibrant and with exceptional access to the outdoors, this room is perfect for celebratory dinners. The Terrace Suite can accommodate dining up to 30 people, receptions up to 70 and meetings up to 25.

Nightingales: Named after the beautiful songbird that has always called Richmond Hill its home, Nightingales offers outstanding views across the River Thames with huge windows that span across the restaurant providing uninterrupted vistas. Nightingales is available for receptions, lunches and dinners and can accommodate dining up to 90 people and receptions up to 120 people. 

The Cellars: With its vaulted ceilings and quaint alcoves, The Cellars is a unique and wonderful location for private dining, wine tasting, gastronomic dinners, murder mystery themed events, or even a party with disco or karaoke. Surrounded by a selection of incredible wine, allow The Cellars to enchant and delight you as you enjoy their charm alongside something delicious. Here, we can accommodate dining up to 20 people, and receptions up to 60.

The Alcove: The Alcove is a secluded private area off the main restaurant offering an intimate private space within the bustling restaurant. The Alcove is beautifully decorated and adorned with a striking chandelier and exceptional artwork found by our owner Greville Dare, during his travels. The Alcove can seat up to 12 people for splendid private dining in Richmond.

Situated just outside of London, The Petersham provides the perfect balance between city thrills and charming countryside views. With its perfect vantage point atop Richmond Hill, The Petersham offers a truly splendid location to enjoy the beauty of Richmond surrounded by your nearest and dearest. 

Should you be venturing to and from London, The Petersham sits roughly 11 miles southwest of Central London, making for a pleasant and easy journey, whatever mode of transport you choose. From Heathrow, The Petersham is a comfortable 40 minute drive. 

Should you prefer the ease of the train, take the South West Trains service from London Waterloo to Richmond station. The journey itself is around 20 minutes, and The Petersham is a pleasant 20 minute walk (1 mile) from the station. Alternatively, for the enthusiastic cyclist, Richmond is a lovely destination and the route takes you along the Thames path, offering scenic riverside views. Allow at least an hour, or even 2 hours for a leisurely cycle with some breaks (approximately 12 miles). If you prefer the ease of the bus, several buses connect Richmond to Central London. The journey can take longer than the train (around 1-1.5 hours), but it's a convenient option if you don't mind relaxing and enjoying the ride.
